Note that this game mode is available only in Worms: Open Warfare 2 Nintendo DS Version.

Laboratory is a subsection/puzzling game mode of the Single Player. The Laboratory has 3 experiments, which is:

  • Experiment 1: Blow
  • Experiment 2: Blast
  • Experiment 3: Draw

Each experiment has 5 missions and 5 unlockable tests. Completing each test (does not include unlockable tests) will give you 200 coins. There are no weapons in the experiments.

"In the laboratory, you can participate in top secret experiments, using the unique capabilities of your Nintendo DS system."

—Team 17s description on the new subsection/game mode of the Single Player.

Blow

Requirements: Arrow keys (to walk), B button (to jump), A button (to parachute) and microphone (to blow).

Optional requirements: Left and Right button, arrow keys, stylus (to move the camera) and Select button (to see the whole map)

In this experiment, you can walk, jump and backflip your worms. When you jump off from a high cliff, your worm automatically parachutes. You can also Parachute manually by pressing the A button. When you parachute, you can blow the microphone to blow your worm up into the air.

"Experiment 1 has you blowing a parachuting worm."

—Team 17s description on Experiment 1's requirements.

Blast

Requirements: Stylus (to make an explosion)

Optional requirements: Left and Right button, arrow keys, stylus (to move the camera) and Select button (to see the whole map)

In this experiment, you cannot walk, jump or backflip your worms. You can only use your stylus to make explosions. This will launch your worm up into the air and move it.

"Experiment 2 asks you to cause explosions on the screen by tapping with the stylus"

—Team 17s description on Experiment 2's requirement.

Draw

Requirements: Stylus (to draw)

Optional requirements: Left and Right button, arrow keys, stylus (to move the camera) and Select button (to see the whole map)

In this experiment, you cannot walk, jump or backflip your worms. You can only use your stylus to draw lines so that your worm will reach the finishing goal. You can also undo your draw on the bottom-right of the touch screen. Once you have complete drawing, a mine near the worm will explode, sending the worm flying into the air. Comparing this experiment on blow and blast, this has the hardest puzzles to complete.

"Experiment 3 allows you to directly draw on the landscape with the stylus to save your worm"

—Team 17s description on Experiment 3's requirement.

Trivia

  • Team17 turns teams into subjects (victim of the first worm) and missions into tests.
  • Since it is subjects and tests so there are no real worms hurt. The worms in the tests are probably testing dummies and there is no war.
